News from Honduras regarding employee and employer contributions to Social Security.
2015’s Framework Law of the Social Protection system has been deemed unconstitutional by the Honduran Supreme Court and subsequently confirmed by publication of the declaration in the Official Gazette La Gaceta on 27 October 2022.
This means that, from December 2022, monthly Social Security contribution rates are returning to the percentages established in the Social Security Law decree 140-1959, articles 55-A and 55-B.
The new rates and limits applied by the Honduran Social Security Institute (IHSS) are:
