In December 2021, Mexico’s Ministry of Economy announced a new program to encourage and attract foreign investment: ‘Invest in Mexico‘. March 2022 sees the launch of an accompanying Business Center, a platform providing investors and those interested in expanding their operations in the country with “personalized support to carry out the processes of establishing their investment projects.”
The Center is located in the Executive Tower of the Ministry of Economy in Mexico City, and offers economic intelligence, economic-financial services, advice and accompaniment, commercial support, introductions to government agencies, and links with companies and suppliers in the chain of the sector of interest. The launch of the Business Center demonstrates the Government’s commitment to attracting FDI.
Certain requirements must be met by those interested in using the Business Center – they must “have a pre-investment project and be referenced by one of the following figures: Representation of Mexico Abroad, Diplomatic Representations Accredited in Mexico, promotion agencies of other countries inside and outside Mexico and / or binational chambers.”
Mexico continues to position itself as one of the first emerging economies and is a strong attractor for foreign investment due to its proximity to the United States, the country’s talent pool, and its multiple treaties with different countries. Mexico is, without a doubt, one of the best options to diversify and expand, and the country appeals to a large market of companies and investors in search of growth.
